Sydney, Australia 2015

 

Sometime in March last year, my friend who left for Australia four years ago spontaneously invited us for a trip to his new home in Sydney. Since my budget for travelling internationally was severely limited at the time, I was very much hesitant to say yes. After all, the airfare alone would’ve been too expensive for me to afford.

But lo, and behold: this awesome friend of mine managed to score round trip tickets to Sydney via Cebu Pacific for the low, low, low price of 7,500php. How could you say no that? Since the travel period wasn’t until November, I had plenty of time to scrape up the proverbial barrel – I never thought I’d ever be thankful for mandatory overtime at work!

We were only supposed to be in Sydney for seven days but because of the whole APEC thing being held in Manila, we were able to extend for two additional days at no charge.

Here’s a run-down of what we were up to when we were there:

Day One:

Airport pick up by PJ, rainy day stroll to Circular Quay for a welcome drinks at the Opera Bar

Macarons and coffee at Laudee; dinner at 1896 with Pinoy friends in Australia

Day Two:

Went hunting for Jacarandra (purple fire) trees

Lunch at Bondi beach, mini-house party and Karaoke to top off the night

Day Three:

Went on a wine tasting tour with Kangarrific, with a side trip to pet random Aussie animals

Chinese for dinner and N2 Extreme Gelato for desert!

Day Four:

Had a late lunch at Coogee Beach and we saw Spectre in the city

Day Five:

Day Six:

Museum and parks day – Museum of Contemporary Art + NSW Art Gallery + The Rocks Museum

Street graffiti + coffee at Guylian

Day Seven:

Went to see P at work – legit “aussie” lunch + Messina gelato (so good!!!)

High tea at Boronia House in the afternoon

Day Eight:

Coastal Walk with D! We started in Coogee and ended up in Bondi a couple of hours afterwards

Day Nine:
